Weekly Market Outlook: Commitment of Traders Cot Heatmap - 03 Jan 2012

US dollar index appeared in the red zone for this week for extreme longs. This is hardly surprising, for eur/usd and gbp/usd has been making new lows, while usd/chf has been making new highs.
The most interesting news for this week concerns the buying and selling of dollar by wife of Swiss National Bank (SNB) chairman Philipp Hildebrand.

Weekly Market Outlook: Commitment of Traders Cot Heatmap - 20 Dec 2011

As of this week, the dollar index is looking good, even on the long side. If you have been bullish on the dollar, there is no reason to close out your position for the time being. Coincidentally, Gold futures also belong to the same color group ie. yellow. Flight to safety is a recurring theme that has been played out many times this year. With the Euro situation still unclear, and new developments, volatility is expected in the coming month.
